Moon Knight Vol 3 Birth and Death Jeff Lemire Greg Smallwood Books Reviews
- The final volume in this series wraps things up beautifully. Where the second part was disjointed, part three uses the structure of the first two sections to give a satisfying conclusion. All the different aspects of Marc Spector's personalities are given a chance to shine. Plus, it brings the story back full circle.
The art is gorgeous yet again. I love the layout work that the creators use because it is different from a lot of other comics. Bellaire's color work is top notch as always. This series is a fantastic look into the psyche of Moon Knight that should appeal to fans and newcomers. - Lemire and Smallwood have done it again! Their run on Moon Knight has been a great character study on Marc Spector and why he not only can't exist without his other personas; Steven Grant, Jake Lockley, and Moon Knight himself, but that he needs them. While some might find it light on the actual "super-hero" aspect, Lemire and Smallwood have given the character his own style to explore the damaged psyche of broken man trying to rebuild himself.
Old fans will enjoy the disturbing depths of Marc's madness and new fans will get see the origins of Moon Knight in a new way. - This is the best Moon knight has been in years and the first time to really get into the split personalitys .its confusing at first but when it ends it s all ties together perfectly.
- A great ending to a great sending, if you like moon knight of Jeff Lemire you should definitely read this "read the whole series it is only 3 volumes", the art and the story telling is amazing one of the best marvel books.
- Very interesting and crazy story
- Sin lugar a dudas el mejor run de Moon Knight, y la conclusión no decepciona en su calidad. Lectura obligatoria para todo fan de Spector
- Moon Knight Vol. 3 Birth And Death collects the final issues of this series - #10-14, but you really have to read the preceding two volumes to appreciate it, and preferably the preceding three volumes before those, stating with Warren Ellis’s Moon Knight Volume 1 From the Dead (Moon Knight (Numbered)).
The first three volumes were written by three different writers, Ellis, Wood and Bunn, while the second (current) three are all by Jeff Lemire, but you’d be hard put to find a break in continuity or style.
This volume is the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle that has been assembling throughout the series, and is the secret origin of Marc Spector and all his aliases.
I have been reading Moon Knight since his first appearance, and, as I often say, comics have grown up with us, their first audience to actually grow up with them, and this is the grown-up Moon Knight, actually growing up.
Marc Spector “is this real? All I know for sure is that the rain feels real as it hits our face. Real enough, anyway. And that’s good enough for us.â€
Me too. - I think its crazy that this volume has so few reviews. This whole Jeff Lemire/Moon Knight series has been expectacular. Like the previous reviewers, I think this volume was an epic conclusion to the series. Lemire is in my top 5 writers and he did not dissapoint with this character that is highly underrated. Moon Knight is probably one of the most relatable "super-hero" figures as his fight is largely with his inner demons. And no series has depicted that better than Lemire's. This volume has amazing art work and great storytelling overall. One cant help but feel bad for the character. Confusion, anxiety, and some traumatic experiences fill his life. Who here hasn't gone through some of those? Amazing is all I can say.
