"A very well-written book. It tells a story from a different perspective. The things most take for granted, are not always given to everyone. I would definitely recommend reading this book."

The Shakespeare Stealer Gary Blackwood Books Reviews :
The Shakespeare Stealer Gary Blackwood Books Reviews
- The Shakespeare Stealer was by far one of the best historical fiction books I have ever read. I started off by having to read this book for school but I enjoyed it so much that I went on to read Shakespeare's Scribe and Shakespeare's Spy. The reason I give this book only four stars is because the first two or three chapters drag on and are hard to get through. Once you get through Widge's life as an orphan and his apprenticeship at Dr. Bright's the book is action packed and forces you to read, and read, and read on. Unlike some books I have read in the past The Shakespeare Stealer has a very satisfying ending. This was a great book and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys adventurous books! -)
- This novel set in Elizabethan England captures the sights and sounds of that time period accurately. I use it as a novel study for Grade Eight students, because it augments the study of The Renaissance so well.
The characters are well developed and interesting. The author's use of humour to sustain the reader's interest helps to keep reluctant readers engaged, Customs of daily life give lots of opportunities for discussion.
This novel, first of three, motivates readers to continue reading the series - a bonus for parents and teachers who are looking for books for boys and girls who don't like to read. - It is the year 1601, and Will Shakespeare is testing some of his plays in the Globe Theater in London, when the 14-year-old orphan Widge is hired to steal one of the play scripts. In the process of gaining access to the theater, Widge is befriended by the troupe, and they treat him as one of their company. Now he must choose whether to betray his friends or risk punishment from his master.
An exciting historical novel for grades 4-7, and I admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it as an adult! I'm looking forward to reading the sequel, Shakespeare's Scribe (Shakespeare Stealer) - This book is very true to the era of the plot, and the main characters are amazing together, With lots of humour and heart! A Nice adventure!
- A very well-written book. It tells a story from a different perspective. The things most take for granted, are not always given to everyone. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
- This was a gift 🎠for my 10 yr old
nephew. He loved it.
He is studying acting & found it
very helpfully! You - This book is fantastic. As a literature teacher I am thrilled to find a very readable and fun book for your students. The characters even get to meet Shakespeare! Highly recommend!!
- Good book. My grandson had to do an oral book report on it and dress and speak the part as well. He loved the book and so did I. He got 105% because his accent put him over the top.
