"As a school teacher, it has been years since I picked up a book solely to read for pleasure. However, after finishing this book (took me about 10 days in total to read- after work, parenting my children, cleaning the house, grading papers and the like), I have a renewed motivation to get back to this past-time I once enjoyed so much.

The book begins with a hook that immediately engrosses the reader into the story. I really appreciated the short chapters where I could budget my time and read through a meaningful section of the story without overly committing myself. The book never bores; the plot is interesting and moves quickly, and is neither overly simple or complex. In particular, the battle scenes were described so well, I could truly imagine myself there. To further understand the plot, I actually did a little research on the histories of these duchies of Medieval Germany and the political geography of the time; this author did his homework! The characters are well-rounded and believable; I saw a lot of myself in Elsea, whether I wanted to admit it or not!

I truly hope that this author is working on a sequel!!! I am a big fan of this first book, and am hoping for more to come!"

• I loved this book! It had all the essentials of a well written novel a gripping storyline, likable characters, a well-paced plot, and a good message. I did not want to put this book down as soon as I started reading. The story had a wonderful balance of humor and sincerity. The characters were both charming and well-developed. The plot did not bore, but took its time where necessary. I appreciated that the message was prominent but not overbearing or inhibiting to the story itself. From beginning to end, this book does not disappoint! I hope this is the beginning of a series, and I would love to see what happens next!
• I am not an avid reader, but I keep picking this book up. Love the characters and story line. Love the shorter chapters, that fit into my busy schedule. Hope this writer has more books coming.
• Love’s Orphan is a wonderful tale containing love + adventure. The book was a joy to read and JC Wilson did a very impressive job of weaving in bits of historical accuracy of feudalism, while still managing to keep the overall plot captivating. 10/10 would recommend this book — there are parts in here that I believe would interest everyone. You won’t regret this purchase!
• I just finished reading this book after several evenings not being able to put it down! The author weaves an intriguing story with well defined characters. When he introduced a heroine wearing pants in 13th century Austria, I knew I was hooked! I’m looking forward to the sequel, for surely this author has more tales to tell.

• I loved this book!! It was so well written that I was immersed in it from the beginning. I found myself in each of the scenes, experiencing what the characters were. I couldn't put the book down. It was the best book I have read in a long time. A must read for everyone!!!
• I just received this book on Thursday and have finished reading it in about three days. It is extremely well written and the different twists and turns the story takes is tremendous. You really grow to love the characters. The author did a fantastic job!
